Engineering Exams

2 AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam) AIEEE is a national level entrance test for admission to Engineering, Architecture and Planning degree courses in different engineering colleges and institutes in the country. The exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI). • The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE for consideration of provisional admission. Offline - April, Online - May
3 IIT-JEE  The Indian Institutes of Technology are institutions of national importance established through an Act of Parliament. These institutes play a leading role in technological manpower development, and have research programs comparable to the best in the world. The admissions to the Undergraduate Programs at these institutions for all Indian and Foreign nationals are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). • A Candidates can attempt JEE only Twice, in consecutive Years. Candidates who have passed (10+2) or equivalent qualifying examination or will be appearing or secure 60% or more (55% or more for sc/st and persons with physical Disability PD).
• Candidates appearing for JEE-2012 should have either passed in 2011 or should be appearing in 2012 in the qualifying examination listed in section 7.1 and should satisfy the eligibility criteria listed in section 7.2.
• Candidates should meet the age requirements given in section 7.4.
• Candidates should not have accepted admission by paying full fees at any of the IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi and ISMU, Dhanbad, through earlier JEE

4 VITEEE - VIT Engineering Entrance exam Conducted by VIT University, Chennai for B.Tech programs at its own campus. Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2012 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2012, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
• The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
• Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
-Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.

5 BITSAT (BITS-Pilani) Conducted by Birla Institute of Technology for Admission into engineering program. • Candidate should have passed 12th (10+2) from recognized central or state board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th class examination, at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and adequate proficiency in English.
• Admissions will be made only on his/her merit position based on the score obtained in BITSAT2012. Only Students who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2012 or who have passed the 12th class examination in 2011 are eligible to appear for BITSAT2012.

2 CAT - Common Admission Test Common Admission Test, popularly known as CAT, unlocks the door to premier B-schools across India including the IIMs & more than 150 other management institutes. CAT is held annually, and conducted jointly by the IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management--Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Bangalore, Lucknow, Indore, Calicut, Kozhikode, Shillong) for granting admissions to selected candidates in the Post graduate & Fellow management programmes of different institutes. • The Candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from any UGC recognized university or appeared for final year exam of any bachelor degree from UGC recognized university. ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) October
3 MAT - Management Aptitude Test Management Aptitude Test, popularly known as MAT, is a management entrance exam conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) since 1988. The exam is conducted on national basis, four times a year in the month of February, May, September and December for granting admissions to the students in the post graduate management courses across various management institutes in the country. • For MAT, the candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree. Final year students in any graduate degree can appear provisionally. Job experience is not mandatory and there is no age bar. February
4 SNAP Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a common and mandatory written test for admission to all the Post-Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University. However, it is only the first step. In addition, a candidate has to undergo the selection process of the desired Institute. • Graduates from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at graduation level.

5 XAT-Xavier Aptitude Test For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting Admission Test on all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education. Our long experience and the expertise have helped us in extending this test to other Management Institutes. • Candidates who wish to appear for the XAT exam must be graduates of any discipline. The certification must be from a recognized university.
• The candidates must have a minimum score of 50 percent in their finals (45 percent for reserved and handicapped candidates).

• The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical /Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
